Objective of Seminar

Objective of Seminar

With the objective of thinking about employment and retention of foreign human resources in Asia and Japan, this seminar will promote information sharing and exchange among various organizations and research and educational institutions, to think together, discuss and collaborate with regards to the employment and retention of Vietnamese human resources. Especially, the novel coronavirus pandemic of 2020 compels us to change drastically forms of country-to-country collaboration and person-to-person cooperation under a new environment. With this historical background in mind, the seminar will be an essential opportunity to re-examine the employment and retention of foreign human resources in Japan and Vietnam through the discussion of the following items.

  • Education of human resources to contribute to the promotion of Japan-Vietnam cooperation and collaboration, and sharing of issues and challenges
  • Sharing of knowledge and information on educational and vocational environments in Japan and Vietnam
  • Review of policies on future Japan-Vietnam cooperative relations
  • Specification of tasks to establish workable bi-lateral systems between Japan and Vietnam

In Japan, numerous businesses are stepping forward to hiring Vietnamese workers, at the same time, viewing the country as an attractive market. On the other hand, in Vietnam, there exists a reality that it is seeking sustainable development through collaboration with other counties in Asia and the rest of the world. In order to produce skilled human resources needed by both countries, the roles of research and educational institutions are huge.

Japan demands greatly foreign workers in the elderly care services. However, also important is a venue to share multiple aspects of aging and foreign care-workers, not only found in Japan, but also in the entire Asian society, and to discuss visions and policies, and human exchanges in an open and future-oriented manner. Recent Japanese language education is lifting off from the mere acquisition of linguistic knowledge to an education placing a stress on “social practicability” and “the learner’s specialty” oriented towards learning how to lead a life in global society while building up human relationships with others from different cultural backgrounds.

This seminar will offer an opportunity to discuss how Japanese language educators, businesses and service providers will be able to create a sustainable development of human resources from different points of view, according to the above items.
